General Information
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT engineer with focus on Linux to join our global IT infrastructure team.
The position will join our existing Linux Server OS team with the responsibility on providing and maintaining managed Linux servers to internal customers, as well as the further development of the Linux services and tooling in collaboration with the existing team.
This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll shape standards, write code, improve reliability, solve complex system problems, and mentor others.
Bringing knowledge about public cloud providers, automation tools and deeper security topics is a big plus.
Your Key Responsibilities

• Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of our tools and processes - from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement;
• Operate and improve on the lifecycle and maintenance of our heterogenous Linux server landscape, including cloud and on-premises setups, including monitoring and troubleshooting;
• Creation of complex DevOps / automation concepts and scenarios based on Ansible and AWX;
• Setup, further development and administration of an Infrastructure as Code automation platform and toolchain;
• Collaboration, consulting and support of application development teams and server owners to understand their requirements and help them use our global Linux product;
• Optimization of existing infrastructures with consideration to DevOps automation approaches;
• Evaluation of new technologies and industry trends and shares with the technical community and contribute your ideas to the team;
• Incident and problem handling within the Global Team.
  

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field;
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT roles;
• Proven experience managing Linux servers in on-premises or cloud environments;
• Experience using version control systems, especially git;
• Experience working in managed service or platform environment;
• Good experience with automation tools and custom scripting, e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Python, Go, Bash or similar would be a plus;
• Ability to drive topics and to learn new technologies and skills;
• Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with a sense of drive;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
• Good documentation skill;
• Knowledge of networking and services;
• Being motivated to improve the team and yourself;
• Ability to work in a global and multicultural team.
  

Bonus Skills

• Understanding and usage of public cloud providers (e.g. Azure or AWS);
• Experience with Terraform to maintain infrastructure;
• Experience with on-premises virtualization tools like VMware vSphere or Hyper-V.
  

This position may require occasional travel to other company locations for meetings or workshops.
