Who We Are
By joining our project, you will be working on an initiative of the European Commission focused on creating a more efficient, modern and secure customs environment within the European Union. Being part of this initiative set on a 5 years’ timeline, you will have the opportunity to work on topics such as digitalization of customs processes, streamlining customs procedures to facilitate trade and reduce costs, harmonization of customs rules across all EU member states and combating fraud.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading the design and development of IT services, ensuring they meet business needs and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and define service specifications.
• Developing service design packages, including architecture, processes, and performance metrics.
• Designing hybrid IT services that integrate on-premises infrastructure with cloud technologies (Microsoft Azure, AWS).
• Implementing best practices for hybrid cloud environments, ensuring seamless integration and operational efficiency.
• Ensuring compliance with security policies and regulatory standards, incorporating security measures into service designs.
• Conducting risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies to enhance service reliability.
• Designing scalable services that support future growth and performance optimization.
• Preparing and maintaining detailed documentation for all service designs and presenting reports on service activities.
• Facilitating workshops and stakeholder meetings to ensure alignment and gather feedback.
• Identifying opportunities to improve service design processes and foster continuous innovation.
  

What You'll Bring Along

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT service design or a related role, preferably within a regulatory or international organization.
• ITIL certification (highly desirable).
• Relevant certifications in cloud and infrastructure technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.
• Expertise in server and storage solutions (HDS, Brocade.NetApp, HPE).
• Experience with networking technologies (Cisco, Juniper Networks).
• Strong proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware).
• Knowledge of cloud services (Microsoft Azure, AWS) and backup/recovery solutions (EMC Networker, Veeam, Commvault).
• Familiarity with security tools (Splunk) and monitoring/management tools (ServiceNow, Dynatrace, Nagios).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across teams.
• Proficiency in service design and architecture, with a focus on operational efficiency.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional environments.
• Excellent command of both spoken and written English (any other European language would be a plus).
