Your Key Responsibilities

o Designing, implementing and operating Oracle database installations in both On Premises and cloud environments according to architecture Best Practices and standards.
o Installation and Configuration: Install and upgrade Oracle RDBMS software and related tools in Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
o Performance Tuning: Proactively monitor system health using tools like AWR, ASH, and ADDM in OEM13.5 and OEM24ai; Optimize SQL queries and manage database parameters to ensure fast response times.
o Backup and Recovery: Develop and test robust disaster recovery plans using Oracle RMAN and Data Guard to guarantee 24/7 data availability for all database services.
o Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security policies, including user access controls, data encryption, and regular auditing to meet [GDPR/SOC2] standards.
o High Availability: Manage and maintain Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) and ASM (Automatic Storage Management) and Dataguard for maximum uptime of database services facing our internal customers.
o Cloud: Assist in migrating on-premise databases to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or AWS/Azure.
o Collaboration: Work closely with application owners and other teams to ensure a reliable Oracle database landscape.
o Consulting customers, providing expert guidance and collaboration on how to best leverage Oracle for their application deployments in both On Premises and cloud platforms, while adhering to security policies.

Your Qualifications

o Academic Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent qualification.
o Long-term professional experience as an Oracle database administrator (m/f/d) with strong focus on building and maintaining cloud and on-prem database infrastructures, having deep knowledge of Oracle RAC as well. Familiarity with Cloud platforms is beneficial.
o Several years of experience in general IT administration tools and IT processes
o In-depth knowledge of RMAN, OEM (Enterprise Manager) and other Oracle tools like SQL Developer
o Platform Knowledge for Oracle RAC: Strong expertise of Linux/Unix (OEL, RedHat) and familiarity with SAN/Network technologies which are needed to install, configure and operate an Oracle RAC.
o Good expertise in using Linux operating systems
o Debugging and command-line skills on Linux Server OS and cloud environments, with a focus on infrastructure and platform troubleshooting, including security-related issues.
o Fluent English language skills (written and spoken)
o German language skills would be beneficial
o Enthusiasm for direct and frequent interaction with internal customers, providing expert guidance and fostering collaboration with colleagues on building and utilizing the database infrastructure in both on premises and cloud environments, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
o Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
o Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
o Ability to work in a high-pressure, 24/7 on-call environment.
