Who We Are
We are looking for a skilled Java Developer with Camunda to join our team and support innovative backend development initiatives for our client, a leading British multinational in financial services and asset management. As part of your responsibilities, you will design and implement workflow and orchestration solutions using Camunda, as well as build and manage distributed workflows leveraging AWS Step Functions. Your expertise will help streamline key HR processes, including time tracking, leave management, and essential HR workflows, ensuring seamless, cloud‑native performance in a highly regulated environment.
What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing and implementing workflow and orchestration solutions using Camunda
• Building and managing distributed workflows using AWS Step Functions
• Developing serverless applications and integrations using AWS services (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge)
• Designing scalable, event-driven architectures aligned with enterprise standards
• Integrating workflow solutions with backend systems and external APIs
• Participating in architecture discussions and defining technical solutions
• Ensuring high code quality through best practices, testing, and code reviews
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams across delivery locations (onshore/offshore)
• Supporting deployment and CI/CD processes in cloud environments
  

What You’ll Bring Along

• Strong AWS development experience
• Hands-on experience with AWS Step Functions
• Experience with EventBridge, SNS, and SQS
• Good understanding of event-driven / serverless architectures
• Strong backend development skills (preferably Java or similar JVM-based languages)
• Experience building and integrating APIs and microservices
• Ability to work autonomously and deliver production-quality code Nice-to-have
• Experience migrating workflow/orchestration platforms (e.g. Camunda or similar) to AWS Step Functions
• Experience with AWS Lambda and serverless patterns
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for serverless flows
• The key priority for us is strong AWS experience around Step Functions and event-driven services
