ING Hubs Romania offers 130 services in software development, data management, non-financial risk & compliance, audit, and retail operations to 24 ING units worldwide, with the help of over 2000 hi h-performin en ineers, risk, and operations professionals.

We started out in 2015 as ING's software development hub, then steadily expanded our range to include more services and competencies. Now we provide borderless services with bank-wide capabilities and operate from two locations: Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca.

Our tech capabilities remain the core of our business, with more than 1800 colleagues active in Data Management, Touchpoint Channels & Integration, Core Banking, and Global Products.

Your day to day

Contributor

As a Chapter Lead, you remain an active squad member, dedicating most of your time to hands-on work in your area of expertise--whether that's software development, infrastructure, IT risk, or another technical craft.

Maintain a Safe & Healthy Team

Lead the full employee lifecycle, foster engagement, manage work-life balance, and create a positive, inclusive team culture aligned with the Orange Code -- all while being hands-on as part of the squad and driving technical excellence.

What you'll bring to the team

Education & Background

• University degree in IT or engineering;
• 10+ years of IT experience, including leadership roles;

Technical Excellence

• Strong engineering foundation with hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, Python, and front-end technologies;
• Skilled in modern architectures, DevOps, CI/CD (Azure DevOps), and containerization (Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift);
• Experience with SRE tooling (Grafana, Prometheus), integration (Kafka, JMS, MQ), testing frameworks (JUnit, Selenium, Cucumber), and databases (Oracle, Hibernate, ElasticSearch);

Delivery & Leadership

• Proven track record in designing and migrating web applications, driving project delivery, and leading diverse technical teams;
• Deep understanding of Software Development lifecycle, IT risk controls, and incident management;
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
