Job Description
As a Java Developer, you will be part of a talented software team working on on-premises payment solutions. You will design and build new components and features for payment adapters that integrate Point-of-Sale terminals with various payment channels. You will create automated tests and ensure the software meets our quality standards.
Job Responsibilities:

• Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle;
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code within our internal payment framework;
• Develop and maintain integration adapters between POS hardware and payment communication channels;
• Build and consume REST APIs and SOAP Web Services for payment terminal communication;
• Integrate and maintain third-party payment gateway SDKs;
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems;
• Write and maintain automated tests at both unit and acceptance level;
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to maintaining code quality standards;
• Track and manage work items, bugs, and sprints using dedicated project management tooling;
• Document technical decisions, architecture, and release notes in the team knowledge base;
• Recommend improvements to existing adapter processes and communication protocols;
• Ensure continuous professional self-development.
  

Job Requirements

• Experience in Java back-end development (Java SE, Spring Framework, Spring Boot);
• Experience developing and consuming REST Web Services; SOAP experience is a plus;
• Familiarity with JSON and XML processing;
• Experience with third-party payment gateway or terminal API integration is a strong plus;
• Experience with serial/hardware communication protocols is a plus;
• Strong mindset for automated testing (unit, mocking, acceptance/BDD testing);
• Proficiency with Maven as a build tool;
• Comfortable with Git;
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines, code quality tools, and artifact repositories;
• Experience working within Scrum teams - sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming;
• Experience working on on-premises, embedded, or hardware-adjacent software is valued;
• Scrum/Agile enthusiast;
• Good spoken and written English is required;
• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field is good to have;
• Ability to openly present and defend technical ideas;
• Independent and highly self-motivated with a strong customer focus;
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team;
• Action and results-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities;
• Proactive and flexible approach with a resilient and results-oriented nature.
