The Junior Electrical Engineer has an academic qualification related to electrical engineering or building services and can demonstrate an understanding of what building services Engineering involves. Juniors may have some pre or joint study experience of working in a consultancy practice or in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work within electrical discipline team assisting with design and technical advice on projects lead by others;
• Assist in the completion of detailed designs and in the development of specifications;
• Be able to demonstrate acceptable technical writing skills;
• Work in co-ordination with all other design team members whether internal or external;
• Check your own work for compliance with good practice and the project brief;
• Present your work to the WSP project leader for approval prior to issue;
• Participate in value engineering sessions and in technical design reviews;
• Develop an understanding of maintenance and installation practices within the design.
• Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to the Line Manager;
• Complete accurate timesheets by set deadline;
• Report to the Line Manager any issues that may affect the effective delivery of projects on agreed deadlines, the quality of the projects or any other points likely to affect the company’s image.
• Perform basic levels calculations within rooms using Dialux software;

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Relevant internship or work experience in Low Voltage electrical systems, Extra Low Voltage experience, Revit experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical design and drafting.
• Knowledge of industry standards and codes related to electrical engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and grow within the organization.
