Key Account Manager
Job Title: Key Account Manager / Regional Manager
Location: Romania (preferred regions: Central & West)
Department: Commercial / Sales – Business Development
Reports To: Business Manager Romania
Job Purpose:
This role directly contributes to Rainbow’s sales growth, commercial alignment, and market expansion in Romania. The position is designed to convert technical and promotional actions into measurable commercial results, in line with the company’s go-to-market strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Key Account Management
- Develop and implement account strategies for key customers (distributors, large growers).
- Manage annual negotiations, pricing, and rebate agreements.
- Monitor sales performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, offering agronomic and product support to key stakeholders.
2. Key commercial responsibilities
- Implement distributor campaigns agreed with HQ (bonuses, promotional packs, push/ pull actions).
- Monitor monthly distributor performance: sales volumes, stock flow, and commercial
KPI’s.
- Support forecast generation and planning at local level to ensure supply chain accuracy.
- Identify new business opportunities (large farms, underdeveloped regions, secondary
channels).
- Actively support market share growth for priority products.
- Performance indicators (KPIs):
- Number of relevant commercial visits per month (distributors, key farms).
- Sales volume influenced (€/L or treated hectares).
- Number of supported activations (demo plots, events, product launches).
- Campaign execution level (% of distributors activated).
- Forecast accuracy and delivery vs. plan (by channel, region, product).
3. Regional Sales Leadership
- Manage a specific territory or region with clear sales targets and growth ambitions.
- Build, lead, and motivate a team of field representatives, agronomists, or sales agents in the future.
- Coordinate marketing and technical support for field trials and demo days.
4. Market & Competitor Intelligence
- Track market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform strategy.
- Identify new business opportunities and gaps in portfolio coverage.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with business development, business manager, technical, supply chain, and finance teams.
- Ensure alignment with regional and global business strategies.
6. Compliance & Reporting
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, and reporting dashboards.
- Ensure all business practices comply with internal policies and external regulations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master’s in Agronomy, Agriculture, or related field.
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in sales or key account management in crop protection/agricultural inputs.
- Previous experience working with distributors and large-scale farmers in Romania.
- Team management experience is a plus (for regional manager roles).
- Languages: Fluent in Romanian and English (written and spoken).
- Other Requirements:
- Valid driving license and willingness to travel extensively within Romania.
- Knowledge of Romanian agricultural market and crop cycles.
