🧭 About the Role
We’re hiring a Key Account Manager – Modern Trade for a leading European food group with operations in Romania. This role is ideal for candidates with a hunter mindset — individuals who thrive on opening new client accounts, securing first orders, and building long-term retail partnerships from scratch.
You’ll work on-site, reporting directly to the Regional Manager based abroad, and own full account responsibility across modern trade retail chains.
⚠️ This is not a farming role — your success will be measured by new client acquisition and revenue growth.
🎯 What You’ll Do:
- Acquire and grow key accounts in the modern trade / hypermarket segment
- Identify new clients and initiate first orders — new business is your main KPI
- Manage full client lifecycle: acquisition, profitability, performance
- Conduct regular field visits for shelf audits, assortment checks, competitor analysis
- Develop SKU pricing models and promotional strategies for each partner
- Ensure compliance with contracts, payment terms, and delivery timelines
- Communicate changes clearly (price updates, assortment changes, etc.)
- Track and report progress through the company's internal CRM system
✅ Who You Are:
- 3+ years in FMCG sales (food or beverage is a plus)
- Proven experience working with major retail chains: Metro, Kaufland, Carrefour, Auchan, etc.
- A true hunter profile – you enjoy prospecting, opening doors, and closing deals
- Confident negotiator with a strong understanding of pricing, margins, and promo ROI
- Strong Excel and MS Office skills
- Highly proactive, self-driven, and field-oriented
- Fluent in Romanian, strong English communication
💰 What’s Offered:
