Role Overview:

We are looking for a Lead Management Accountant to support our newly established operations in the UAE, as well as other group entities experiencing transformation driven by mergers, acquisitions, and substantial growth in volumes. The role will be instrumental in enhancing financial control, supporting scalability, and enabling informed decision-making across the organization.

You will be leading a team of management accountants / analysts to produce timely and accurate financial information and support the Commercial Finance and Financial Planning & Analysis teams in providing stakeholders with management accounts. Ownership of P&L & BS, Budgets and input to strategic plan for divisions of responsibility.

Role and responsibilities:

• Working closely with local accounting and consultancy firms to support business development activities and ensure alignment with regional financial and regulatory frameworks.
• Financial Reporting and Management Accounts: Production of monthly management accounts. Timely review of P&Ls with business unit operational heads. Collate commentary and insights after monthly review meetings with the operational leadership team.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Drive the budget from key rolling forecast information provided by the Business Partnering team.
• Work collaboratively on cost drivers, explain, challenge, and support key assumptions from stakeholders. Ensure operational ownership of budgets, supported and presented by accounting teams.
• Profitability Analysis: Support profitability analysis for the division.
• Balance Sheet Reconciliation and Audit Support: Work with preparers to detail makeup of balance sheet positions. Highlight risks and opportunities to management. Support Year End audit and act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the external audit team.
• Corporate Governance and Financial Control: Assist the financial control manager in maintaining best practice documents of accounting processes and controls within SCC.
• Team Management and Development: Set objectives for the team in collaboration with the head of the department. Manage and coach team members, contributing to their professional development.
• Ad Hoc Financial Analysis: Support ad hoc financial analysis to aid decision-making.

Skills, knowledge and experience:

• Qualified accountant, with demonstrable post qualification experience and confident in reporting across multiple business units
• Good business acumen and commercial awareness
• Experience of managing direct reports, coaching and development
• Good communication, reporting and interpersonal skills, both in writing and orally to a diverse set of audiences, including senior management
• Highly proficient in the use of MS Excel, good MS office skills and experience of Cognos/TM1 applications would be helpful
• Knowledge of applying financial control to mitigate risk and Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Clear and concise communication skills, facilitating explanations for changes in customer profitability trends.
• Demonstratable adaptability to evolving processes and changing dynamics in revenue and cost structures.
• Commitment to continuous improvement, actively contributing to the development of the customer profitability process.
• Nice to have: French language skills
