About The Role
In this role, you will play a key role in shaping and driving quality engineering across complex software initiatives. Beyond execution, you will guide best practices, mentor engineers, and support strategic decisions related to tools, frameworks, and automation processes.
Responsibilities

• Define and drive the Test Automation strategy, roadmap, and technical direction
• Shape automation framework architecture, ensuring scalability, stability, and reuse
• Establish automation standards, coding guidelines, and review practices
• Contribute to strategic decisions regarding tools, frameworks, and environments
• Mentor Test Automation Engineers through coaching and technical support
• Coordinate automation activities, including planning, prioritization, and delivery alignment
• Partner with Product Owners, Developers, and QA teams to clarify requirements and ensure testability
• Own automation scope, coverage, risks, dependencies, and quality gates
• Communicate progress, metrics, and risks to stakeholders in a transparent manner
• Design, implement, and maintain automated tests for web, UI, and API layers
• Build and evolve automation frameworks using Playwright, Selenium, Puppeteer, or Serenity-BDD
• Write clean, modular, and reusable code in Java (17) or Node.js / TypeScript
• Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions)
• Develop internal tools and libraries for authentication, test data, and reporting
• Produce structured test reports and ensure traceability (e.g., Serenity)
• Collaborate with manual testers to convert scenarios into automated coverage
  

Requirements

• Proven experience in Test Automation engineering within complex software environments
• Strong hands-on background with automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Puppeteer, RestAssured, Serenity-BDD, or Cucumber
• Proficiency in Java (17) and ideally Node.js / TypeScript
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Maven, or NPM
• Solid understanding of automation architecture, test strategy, and design principles
• Demonstrated ability to build and scale reusable automation frameworks
• Experience mentoring or supporting other engineers
• Confident communication skills and comfort working in multicultural teams
• Skills in working independently while collaborating effectively
• Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills
• Advanced English proficiency (upper-intermediate level or higher)
