We're Hiring: Legal Advisor (Data Protection)

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with GDPR and other applicable data protection legislation, as well as internal policies and procedures.
• Provide legal advice on data protection matters and support business units with privacy-related questions.
• Monitor data processing activities and ensure personal data is processed in accordance with legal requirements.
• Conduct and review Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and monitor their implementation.
• Liaise with the Data Protection Authority on privacy-related matters.
• Support the handling of data subject rights requests and other privacy inquiries.
• Review and advise on internal procedures, operational workflows, and documentation from a data protection perspective.
• Review contracts and provide legal input on data protection clauses.
• Prepare periodic reports on data protection activities and promptly escalate privacy risks, incidents, or compliance issues.
• Monitor national and EU legislative developments, regulatory guidance, recommendations, and enforcement trends, ensuring timely implementation of necessary changes.

What We're Looking For

• University degree in Law.
• Solid knowledge of civil, commercial, and banking law.
• At least 4 years of professional experience in banking legal advisory, with minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in data protection/privacy.
• Strong understanding of the legal framework applicable to financial institutions, particularly EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and privacy best practices.
• Knowledge of IT processes and information security risk management is considered an advantage.
• Ability to promote a strong data protection culture across the organization.
• Adaptability, attention to detail, strong analytical and observational skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external partners.
• Advanced English language skills (knowledge of specific legal terminology is an advantage).
