Our client is a Romanian trading company operating in the import and distribution sector, with a focus on a wide range of consumer and industrial products. He manages international supplier relationships, particularly from non-EU markets, and ensures the efficient flow of goods into the local market.
Our client is involved in commercial operations including procurement, supply chain coordination, and product distribution, with a strong focus on compliance with European market requirements. The company operates in a dynamic environment where regulatory alignment, accurate documentation, and effective supplier management are key priorities.
The role is focused on prevention and risk management, not litigation or notarial activities.
We are looking for a Legal Counsel specialized in Product Compliance to ensure the correct application of European and national legislation for products imported and distributed by the company.
Commercial law, European Union law, consumer protection, technical regulations, and product compliance.
Requirements:

• Completed legal studies (Law degree)
• Experience in product compliance within a manufacturing, import, or distribution company, or in EU regulatory consulting
• Ability to interpret European directives and regulations
• Advanced English level (technical and legal documentation)
• Analytical thinking, practical mindset, and solution-oriented approach
  

Considered an advantage:
Experience with the Machinery Directive / Regulation (EU) 2023/1230, EMC, LVD, RED, GPSR, batteries and electric vehicles, labeling requirements, notified bodies, GDPR.
Interpret and apply EU and Romanian legislation regarding the placing of products on the market
Analyze compliance requirements: CE marking, declarations of conformity, technical documentation, labeling, and user instructions
Continuously monitor relevant legislative changes
Collaborate with Procurement, Technical, Quality, and Supply Chain departments
Manage communication with relevant authorities (where applicable)
Assess legal risks related to product commercialization
Review supplier documentation, especially from non-EU suppliers
