We are looking for a talented Legal Privacy Counsel to join our global Legal Privacy, AI and Information Governance team in Romania. You will be joining a professional, supportive, and collaborative team that highly values teamwork and mutual respect. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in European privacy law and data protection, including EU and UK GDPR, and a proven track record of providing practical legal advice and ensuring compliance with global privacy regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Provide expert legal advice on privacy and data protection laws, including EU and UK GDPR, e-Privacy Directive, EU AI Act and other relevant regulations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain privacy policies and procedures.
• Conduct data privacy impact assessments and provide advice on privacy and data protection matters, such as data subject requests, privacy maturity assessments, client audits and AI matters.
• Advise on data breach response and manage incident investigations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and various stakeholders to ensure privacy compliance in all business operations.
• Provide legal advice for privacy related matters to your internal clients globally supporting day-to-day operations.
• Draft and negotiate data processing agreements and other privacy-related contracts.
• Monitor and analyze changes in privacy laws and regulations.
• Conduct training and awareness programs on privacy and data protection for employees.
• Represent the company in privacy-related regulatory inquiries.

Qualifications we seek in you

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in privacy, AI and data protection laws (in-house/authorities/ law firm).
• University graduate in Law (LLM) or equivalent.
• In-depth knowledge of the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, e-Privacy Directive, EU AI Act and other local privacy laws and regulations.
• Experience working in a commercial environment with various stakeholders.
• Excellent written and spoken proficiency in English.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and written and oral communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and global environment.
• High ethical standards and professional integrity.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E) or equivalent certification.
• Experience with OneTrust or similar privacy management tools and legal AI platforms.
• Familiarity with privacy issues in emerging technologies such as AI, Generative AI, Agentic AI.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple activities simultaneously in an efficient manner.
• Organizing skills and capacity to manage projects remotely (e.g., via e-mails, calls etc.).
