Role Overview

As a Senior Linux Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting Linux infrastructure, validating transition activities, implementing best practices, managing operational risks, and ensuring a smooth transition to Business-as-Usual (BAU) operations.

You will work closely with customers, infrastructure teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to deliver stable, secure, and highly available Linux environments.

Key Responsibilities

Linux Infrastructure Administration

✔ Administer and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments

✔ Support Linux infrastructure implementation and lifecycle management

✔ Perform Linux server installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting

✔ Manage user administration, file systems, and Logical Volume Manager (LVM)

✔ Implement Linux hardening and operational best practices

Transition & Service Readiness

✔ Understand customer infrastructure and architecture

✔ Validate Scope of Work (SoW) and Due Diligence findings

✔ Identify technical and operational gaps

✔ Develop Service Management Transition Documents (SMTD)

✔ Execute knowledge transfer and transition to BAU teams

✔ Prepare risk registers and recommend mitigation plans

Infrastructure Operations

✔ Perform patch management across Linux infrastructure

✔ Coordinate firmware and software lifecycle updates with OEM vendors

✔ Configure remote management and monitoring solutions

✔ Support service assurance and operational readiness

Clustering & High Availability

Support and administer environments using:

• Red Hat Cluster

• Veritas Cluster

• PowerHA

• PCS Cluster

• High Performance Computing (HPC)

• GPFS

Platform & Backup Administration

✔ Install, configure, and administer Satellite Server

✔ Support NIM Server administration

✔ Perform LPAR installation and maintenance

✔ Support mksysb backup and restoration

✔ Work with enterprise backup solutions including:

• Cohesity

• Dell EMC Networker

✔ Support storage integration activities

Operations & Governance

✔ Follow ITIL processes for Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Management

✔ Coordinate with vendors and OEMs

✔ Support capacity management activities

✔ Produce technical documentation and operational reports

✔ Drive service improvement initiatives
