Project overview

We are looking for a Mainframe IT Operations Engineer to join our team in Bucharest (hybrid working model) for a specialized project in the banking sector. In this role you will be a part of the Production Support team within the Operations department, specialising in mainframe support.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out requested actions in accordance with defined procedures and processes:
• Deploy components and manage releases
• Update, deploy and run batch scheduling assets
• Monitoring and reporting on global mainframe processes (including file processing)
• Coordinate the above actions with other teams, particularly Paris OPS and global application development teams
• Contribute to knowledge transfer with Paris OPS teams
• Contribute to defining the procedures and processes required by the team
• Contribute to regular activity reporting and KPI calculation
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of Mainframe Z technology
• General IT infrastructure knowledge
• Knowledge and experience with:
• CA7/OPC
• CICS / IMS
• DB2
• Familiarity with Endevor / Changeman / eGen
• Familiarity with middleware such as MQseries, CFT
• Familiarity with specific languages and technologies: Rexx, ISPF Macro and Clists
• Eager to learn
• Analytical mindset
• Ability to update existing documentation and procedures
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide feedback
• Good written and spoken English is essential; French is an advantage

Nice to have

• Databases: PostgreSQL and Redis.
• Observability: Splunk and Grafana.
• Performance: Error diagnosis and proactive monitoring in cloud environments.
