Your new role

As a Marketing and Strategy Senior Director in the Cardiometabolic Marketing & Strategy department, you will mentor and inspire a high-performing team while guiding commercial strategy, shaping innovative marketing, and elevating launch excellence across the value chain.


This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of Novo Nordisk’s cardiometabolic portfolio and create real, lasting impact for people living with chronic diseases. You will help steer bold innovation, strengthen our leadership in a rapidly evolving landscape, and drive sustainable growth.


Your daily key responsibilities include:

Leading, mentoring, and developing the cardiometabolic marketing and business development team, shaping organisational design and fostering high engagement, collaboration, and performance. Defining and refining portfolio and brand strategies to meet market needs and business goals, ensuring strong market fit and alignment with business objectives. Translating short-, mid- and long-term strategy into actionable marketing plans and multichannel campaigns that drive adoption, growth, and portfolio performance. Planning and executing new-indication and major launches, coordinating cross-functional activities with key stakeholders. Pioneering innovative and creative advertising strategies, leveraging digital platforms to strengthen brand visibility and engagement. Monitoring market dynamics, competitor activity, and financial performance, using advanced data analytics to identify trends and inform strategic decisions. Driving affiliate business development by assessing new therapy areas, pipeline opportunities, external innovation, and partnership opportunities.


The role will be based in Bucharest, Romania and will report directly to the General Manager Romania. 

Your new department

The Cardiometabolic Marketing & Strategy team in Romania drives commercial success for Novo Nordisk’s cardiometabolic portfolio, including diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular therapies. We collaborate with cross-functional partners across medical affairs, market access, sales, regulatory, supply and corporate functions, plus external stakeholders including healthcare professionals, payers and patient organizations.


Joining us, you will support our unwavering commitment to translate global strategy into impactful local plans, combining market insights, clinical evidence, and stakeholder engagement to increase patient access and improve outcomes.


Your skills and qualifications

We are looking for an agile, resilient, and innovative marketing leader who excels in fast-paced, dynamic markets and is committed to advancing meaningful patient engagement. Alongside strategic thinking and adaptability, you should have:

A bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing, business administration, medicine, or a related discipline, with strong commercial acumen. Minimum 5 years’ leadership experience in marketing, building and growing new areas - preferably within pharma or biotech. Strong strategic vision, demonstrated leadership, and people management experience, with excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to align cross-functional teams and influence senior leaders. A proven track record in shaping brand and portfolio strategies, successfully launching products, and conducting comprehensive market analysis. Deep knowledge of local markets and the ability to tailor strategies that deliver both patient impact and commercial results. Excellent verbal and written English skills.


Experience in the obesity therapy area or OTC products, as well as business development or e-commerce, would be considered an advantage.
