Job Purpose
The Meeting & Events (M&E) Sales Controller supports the financial performance and commercial strategy of the hotel’s M&E segment. This role ensures accurate revenue tracking, controls event-related costs, and provides analysis to optimize profitability and pricing decisions. Acting as a bridge between Sales, Events, and Finance, the M&E Sales Controller ensures that all contracts, revenues, and commissions are properly accounted for and aligned with hotel financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Control & Reporting

  • Monitor and reconcile all M&E revenues (banquets, conferences, weddings, exhibitions, catering) to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Validate sales contracts, group agreements, and banquet event orders (BEOs) against financial and pricing policies.
  • Control discounts, complimentary services, and commission payments for M&E bookings.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly M&E performance reports with analysis by segment, event type, and client.
  • Support the month-end closing process with accurate accruals for commissions, rebates, and open events.
  • Ensure correct coding and posting of all M&E-related transactions.

Business Partnering & Analysis

  • Partner with the M&E Sales and Events teams to review profitability of key accounts and events.
  • Support pricing and quotation processes through profitability and contribution margin analysis.
  • Support analyzing forecast accuracy and identify opportunities to improve conversion and yield.
  • Evaluate event types and packages to optimize mix and space utilization.
  • Assist in setting annual budgets and reforecasts for M&E revenue streams.
  • Checks all BEOs and monitors not billed items and accounts not closed

Process & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with internal control procedures, company policies, and brand standards.
  • Support audits and provide supporting documentation as required.
  • Monitor credit approvals, deposits, and payment schedules for event clients.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of reporting tools and processes (BI dashboards, forecasting models).
  • Ensure full alignment of the sales team(s) towards financial processes (period-end closing, forecasting, annual resource allocation) to ensure transparent and accurate flow of data.
  • Identify areas of risk & opportunities to reach targets and execute action plans to close country and customer gaps.

Candidate Profile
Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or Hospitality Management.
  • 3–5 years of experience in finance, sales analysis, or revenue management within the hotel industry.
  • Previous exposure to M&E operations or event sales is a strong advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Solid understanding of M&E operations, pricing, and cost structures.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills with attention to detail.
  • Advanced Excel and proficiency in PMS and sales systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively across departments (Sales, Events, Finance, Operations).
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to meet tight deadlines.

Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
