Requirements And Responsibilities
We are seeking an inquisitive and talented Automation Test Engineer to join our .Net team working on a new application.
You will be responsible for building and enhancing the automation framework, designing and executing step definitions and feature files in accordance with the requirements. You will be expected to continuously contribute to the overall test strategy with ideas of tools and technologies.
You will be highly involved in team participation, working closely with your Scrum team to complete sprint work in the given timeframe.
What You’ll Do

  • Test planning and execution: create, enhance and maintain effective and automated test scenarios, ensuring adequate depth and breadth of test coverage;
  • Carry out exploratory manual testing (e.g. smoke testing, regression testing for both functional and non-functional features of the application);
  • Understand the requirements from technical and business specifications;
  • Actively support agile development methods and best practices;
  • Use Jira to track defects and tasks;
  • Take part in meetings, provide estimates, assist in presenting issues and solutions;
  • Collaborate with other development team members in the planning and analysis phases of user stories during scrum sprints, and with the QA team in areas such as training and assistance;
  • Support the business test team in UAT.

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum of 3 years of Software Testing experience within SDLC, preferably in an agile development environment;
  • A QA engineer should be analytical, collaborative, and capable of owning testing activities for features or products
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to understand requirements and identify gaps or ambiguities
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Confidence working with developers, product owners, business analysts, and delivery teams
  • Ability to explain defects clearly with evidence, logs, screenshots, or reproduction steps
  • Good prioritisation and time management
  • Ownership of assigned testing tasks from planning through to release
  • Willingness to ask questions and challenge assumptions constructively
  • Ability to balance manual and automated testing appropriately
  • Good understanding of risk-based testing
  • Commitment to delivering maintainable, robust, secure, and fit-for-purpose solutions
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to work independently with moderate guidance
  • Comfortable reviewing acceptance criteria and contributing to refinement session
  • UI Testing
  • Good understanding of web application testing, especially Angular-based applications
  • Experience testing UI behaviour, forms, validation, routing, authentication flows, and browser compatibility
  • Ability to write or maintain automated UI tests using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and browser developer tools
  • Experience testing REST APIs
  • Understanding of HTTP methods, status codes, headers, request/response bodies, authentication, and authorisation
  • Ability to use tools such as Postman, Swagger, Insomnia, or REST-assured-style frameworks
  • Basic understanding of C# and .NET applications, including routing, middleware, configuration, dependency injection, and authentication flows
  • Ability to validate API contracts, error handling, edge cases, and integration points
  • Experience writing automated tests using a relevant language, ideally C# or JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Knowledge of test frameworks such as NUnit, xUnit, MSTest, Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium
  • Ability to write maintainable automated tests using clear assertions, reusable helpers, and good test data management
  • Understanding of unit, integration, system, regression, and smoke testing
  • Familiarity with mocking and stubbing concept
  • Ability to validate data in relational databases using SQL
  • Basic understanding of ORMs such as Entity Framework Core or Dapper from a testing perspective
  • Awareness of NoSQL technologies such as Redis or Elasticsearch
  • Ability to verify data consistency, persistence, caching behaviour, and search results
  • Good working knowledge of Git, GitHub, GitLab, or similar
  • Ability to work with pull requests, branches, commits, and code reviews
  • Experience running automated tests in CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines, or AWS pipelines
  • Ability to investigate failed pipeline test runs and identify whether failures are code, test, data, or environment related
  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Ability to test applications deployed to cloud-based environments
  • Familiarity with Docker and containerised test environments
  • Understanding of configuration differences across dev, test, staging, and production-like environments
  • Strong understanding of test design techniques, including boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, decision tables, and exploratory testing
  • Ability to create clear test cases, test scenarios, and acceptance criteria
  • Experience with defect reporting, root-cause investigation, and regression testing
  • Understanding of Agile delivery and working within Scrum or Kanban teams
