Project details
Bridge current capacity for BAU data engineering. Keep pipelines healthy, improve reliability, and free senior engineers to focus on the roadmap and strategic work.
Initial engagement - 6 months with option to extend.
Your Team
Small, high-performing group led by the Group Head of Data Transformation and the Head of Data Engineering. Tooling includes Snowflake, DBT, Python and orchestration on Kubernetes. Collaboration with DevOps and Data Science. Culture values ownership, clarity and calm incident response.

Responsibilities

• Operate and support Kubernetes clusters across dev, test and prod
• Diagnose cluster issues across networking, storage, ingress, DNS and certificates
• Manage deployments, secrets, config and images for data workloads
• Keep observability in good shape using logs, metrics and alerts with clear SLOs
• Maintain Jenkins pipelines and runners for build and deploy of platform components
• Harden access and security controls in line with company policy
• Produce run books, architecture notes and recovery procedures
• Collaborate with data engineers to right-size resources and improve reliability

Skills
Must have

• 4 + years in DevOps or platform engineering with strong Kubernetes skills
• Linux networking fundamentals, including DNS, routing, firewall,s and TLS basics
• Experience with Azure and AWS services used for storage, comput,e or networking
• Hands-on experience in maintaining clusters and solving production incidents
• Practical CI CD with Jenkins or similar and container image management

Nice to have

• Helm, Kustomize or similar tooling
• Knowledge of Snowflake connectivity, DBT runners and Python-based jobs
• Infrastructure as code with Terraform or equivalent
• Experience designing alerting and on-call processes
