On behalf of our client, we are looking for a National Sales Manager located in Bucharest, reporting to the Commercial Director.
Your New Company
You will be joining a dynamic and fast‑growing company in the food production sector, committed to quality, innovation and long‑term partnerships within the modern retail market. The organisation operates nationwide.
Your New Role
As National Sales Manager, you will lead the national sales strategy, drive volume and market share growth, and strengthen the company’s commercial partnerships across international (IKA) and local (LKA) retail networks. You will also manage and develop a team of approximatelly 20 Key Account Managers, ensuring high performance and strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Sales Management
- Lead and coordinate national sales activities across IKA (International Key Accounts) and LKA (Local Key Accounts).
- Implement the commercial strategy together with the Commercial Director and company shareholders.
- Monitor sales objectives, volumes and KPIs by customer and channel.
- Develop and implement commercial plans to grow sales and optimise results.
Team Leadership
- Manage and coach the Key Account Management team (approx. 20 people).
- Set individual objectives and monitor team performance.
- Conduct regular evaluations and support professional development.
- Motivate and support the team in achieving national commercial targets.
Retail Key Account Management
- Lead commercial relationships with major international and local retail chains.
- Participate in negotiations for listings, promotions and commercial terms.
- Monitor the implementation of commercial agreements and contract execution.
Analysis & Strategic Development
- Analyse sales performance and market trends.
- Identify opportunities for market share growth and expansion of the client portfolio.
- Propose commercial strategies to strengthen the company’s position in the market.
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with Production, Marketing, Logistics and Finance departments.
- Ensure alignment between sales plans, production capacity and overall business strategy.
- Provide regular reports to the Commercial Director and shareholders.
What You Need to Succeed
- University degree in Economics/Management/Marketing.
- 7–10 years experience in Sales (FMCG/food industry preferred).
- Proven experience managing retail key accounts (IKA & LKA).
- Strong negotiation, leadership & strategic planning skills.
- Very good knowledge of the Romanian retail market.
- Availability for national travel.
