Purpose of position

We are looking for a Start Up Lead Offshore will be responsible for supporting the execution of the Neptun Deep Facilities Start Up scopes, acting as a focal point for the Project Operations group. Based offshore, the Start-up Lead will oversee the offshore facilities start up and well clean up scopes, providing guidance to the offshore operations team located on Neptun Alpha Platform (NAP).

The Start Up Lead Offshore will also liaise with the Onshore Start Up Lead at the NGMS CCR during the start-up activities. The Start Up Lead is responsible for all maters in relation to the hot commissioning of the NAP facilities and delivery of the associated facilities performance test. The Start Up Lead offshore will act as technical Process Engineering focal point for all matters related to Start Up, Hot Commissioning, Well Clean up and Performance Testing

Key responsibilities

• Verify all systems meet contractual, technical, and safety requirements prior to handover to Project Operations
• Review, validate, and verify handover documentation including ITRs, punch lists, and system readiness dossiers from the project Delivery line
• Verify close‑out of pre‑start‑up punch items and verify that all critical and mandatory tasks are completed.
• Plan, direct, and supervise hot commissioning activities for process, utility, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Monitor and Supervise execution of all commissioning procedures, checklists, and that method statements are followed precisely and safely.
• Coordinate with vendors, discipline engineers and OTL to bring systems online safely.
• Troubleshoot commissioning issues and provide technical guidance to resolve failures or deviations.
• Verify proper configuration and testing of control logic, safeguarding systems, and emergency shutdown functions during live commissioning.
• Support the Project Operations group in the safe introduction of hydrocarbons into the facility, ensuring all technical, safety, and regulatory requirements are met.
• Monitor live plant conditions, identify abnormalities, and coordinate rapid resolution to avoid production downtime or risks.
• Communicate progress to onshore/offshore operations and Start Up Manager
• Supervise execution of performance testing plans for process equipment, wells, and utilities to verify compliance with design parameters.
• Support project operations in troubleshooting and optimization activities to achieve stable plateau production and validate performance test results and prepare acceptance documentation for project close‑out.
• Champion safety culture during all high‑risk offshore commissioning and start‑up.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, company standards, and industry best practices.
• Conduct pre‑job safety reviews, risk assessments, operational readiness checks.
• Act as the primary offshore focal point at the Neptun Alpha platform
• Provide daily status updates on progress, constraints, risks, and mitigation action to Start up Manager
• Act as startup process engineering focal point providing technical support to the startup and operations teams.
• As required develop, review and approve – start up MOC’s, technical queries,
• Develop isolation (certificates) and SECE inhibits (certificates) and populate permits in associated the control of work system.
• HSE duties: to ascertain and respect the legislation’s and internal provisions in the field of health, safety, security and environment protection at work, protection against fire and civil protection as long as their implementation measures; to use the equipment of the current and protection activity according to the technical instructions
• Responsible for health, safety, security and protection of the environment at the workplace, participates in HSSE trainings (according to competency maps), and contributes to integrate HSSE into the company culture.

Relevant professional experience

• Bachelor Degree Process, Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation Discipline
• Active BOSIET OPITO approved
• 15 years of relevant professional experience in commissioning, startup, operations, maintenance, with previous leadership/management experience
• Demonstrable experience in offshore startup and early/initial field operations, the person filling this role will have demonstrated broader whole of project and operations focus with increased responsibilities commissioning, start-up and early operations of facilities.
• Previous experience in execution/supervision of startup and performance test procedures/operations
• Relevant oil and gas site based startup and commissioning experience
• Experience working across various project phases including design, construction, commissioning start up and early operations
• Demonstratable track record integrating multiple work streams with an ability be technically accountable for procedures and scope.
• Deepwater experience strongly preferred

Relevant professional skills

• Ability to run models and complete process calculation using Aspen Hysys
• Ability to think methodically and solve problems.
• Able to maintain an overview of multiple elements of a project, while still handling day-to-day activities.
• Confident working under pressure, able to quickly adapt to deal with unexpected issues.
• EU Passport or right to work in EU desirable, or willingness to undergo visa process.
