I run a private members' club for a small number of high-net-worth families, and an advisory practice alongside it. The club meets in person several times a month, at dinners and gatherings in American cities, usually in historic buildings. I want to be running two of these a month in addition to our online activity. At the moment I run fewer due to bandwidth constraints.
I am hiring one person to change that. You would own the operational side of the business: the events, the logistics, the suppliers, the administration. I would keep the member relationships, the writing and the decisions. Everything else is yours.
This is the first hire in the company. There is no HR department, no management layer and no committee. You would work directly with me. The company's revenue is growing quickly and there is exceptional demand for our services.
What you would actually do
Events. This is the heart of it. For each event you would find the venue, historic, beautiful, the right size, able to serve a proper dinner, in a city you may never have visited. You would build a shortlist of three with costs and a recommendation, bring it to me, and once I have chosen, you would run it: contracts, catering, flowers, valet, timings, suppliers, and the photographs afterwards. Roughly two events a month.
My travel. Flights, hotels and itineraries built around the event calendar, planned properly in advance.
Administration and finance. Invoicing, getting documents to our accountants, reconciling expenses, managing the company card, and chasing the things that need chasing.
Correspondence. I will forward you the operational portion of my inbox, supplier questions, booking confirmations, scheduling, and you would handle it end to end.
What I offer

1. 6,400 to 7,900 lei net per month, depending on experience, plus meal vouchers at the maximum legal value. Take-home is roughly 7,200 to 8,700 lei per month all in.
2. A formal review at twelve months with a substantial increase available on performance.
3. Hybrid working: two or three days in a central Bucharest coworking space, the rest wherever suits you.
4. Genuine autonomy and a direct line to the person running the business.
5. Work that is unusually interesting for an operations role. You will not be processing tickets in a queue.
6. The potential for a more senior title and employees working under you as the company expands.

This role suits someone who is happy being handed an outcome, rather than step-by-step instructions. You will propose ambitious plans, I will refine them, and together we will execute them.
You will need:

• Real experience organising things where you carried the responsibility, not just the tasks. Events, hospitality, operations, executive support, project coordination: the field matters less than whether it was yours to get right.
• Excellent written English. Almost all of this job happens in English, in writing, with people in the United States. This is not a "conversational English" role, and your application will be read with that in mind.
• Comfort planning weeks ahead and working with people in other time zones.
• An interest in aesthetics and beauty, and a sense of taste in design. You will be choosing venues for sophisticated events, and should be able to tell class from classless.
• Discretion. Our members are successful families who expect privacy and respect.
• Romanian is useful for dealing with our accountants and local suppliers, but is not a requirement.
• I am not interested in degrees or in how many years you have been working. I am interested in what you have actually run, and how you think. Please do not rule yourself out because your background is in a different industry.
