Role Overview

We are looking for a Mid-Level Oracle & PostgreSQL DBA Engineer to support the administration and optimization of high-availability database platforms powering critical enterprise systems.

In this role, you will contribute to database operations, performance tuning, automation initiatives, and production support activities, working closely with senior DBAs, infrastructure, and application teams.

You will gain exposure to complex enterprise environments across on-prem and cloud infrastructures, while actively contributing to stability, resilience, and continuous improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor Oracle and PostgreSQL databases in production

• Support high availability and performance optimization initiatives

• Provide L2 production support and assist in incident resolution

• Provision and configure databases under guidance

• Perform patching and minor upgrades

• Assist in backup & recovery implementation and testing

• Contribute to automation using Shell scripting and Ansible

• Monitor database performance and suggest improvements

• Support cloud migration and infrastructure-related projects

• Maintain documentation and follow ITIL-based processes

• Participate in on-call rotation and occasional weekend support

Required Skills & Experience

• 2–4 years of experience working with Oracle Database

• Experience with PostgreSQL administration (production exposure preferred)

• Basic understanding of High Availability concepts (RAC is a plus)

• Experience with performance monitoring and basic tuning

• Knowledge of backup & recovery strategies

• Shell scripting skills (intermediate level)

• Exposure to automation tools (Ansible is a plus)

• Familiarity with Git version control

• Understanding of ITIL processes

• Good English communication skills

Nice to Have

• Exposure to Oracle RAC environments

• Experience with cloud environments or migration projects

• Familiarity with Agile ways of working

• Basic knowledge of infrastructure services
