Our client, an international manufacturing group with a strong footprint in Romania, is seeking a Plant Financial Controller to lead the controlling function for its local operations.

The position is hybrid (3 days office, 2 remote), based in the Caransebeș area.

The role

You will oversee plant controlling, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management. You will lead a small controlling team of two Financial Controllers (you will be acting as Head of Controlling) and act as a strategic partner to operations, production, supply chain, and commercial stakeholders. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, transparent cost structures, and strong operational insights for management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the controlling team and ensure high-quality output

• Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasts

• Monitor plant performance, profitability, and key KPIs

• Deliver clear financial reports and business insights to management

• Perform cost, margin, and scenario analysis to support decisions

• Strengthen internal controls and support audit activities

• Drive process improvements and reporting automation

• Work daily with SAP and advanced Excel tools

Profile

• Minimum 3 years in controlling, including team leadership

• Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis

• Solid understanding of manufacturing environments

• SAP expertise is mandatory

• Advanced Excel skills

• Strong analytical and stakeholder management abilities

• Fluent English

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or similar
