We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to lead national and international projects in the energy and utilities sector. The Project Engineer will be responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and delivering projects while ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, timelines, budgets, and quality standards. This role requires strong coordination, stakeholder management, and expertise in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, and Confluence, along with familiarity with utility digitalization systems like HES, MDM, WFM, and RDSS initiatives. The Project Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, clients, and leadership to ensure successful project delivery while driving operational efficiency and project governance.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution

• Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of projects including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, resource allocation, and delivery timelines using MS Project.
• Define project scope, deliverables, milestones, and success metrics.
  

Stakeholder & Team Management

• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and external partners to ensure smooth project execution.
• Lead cross-functional teams including engineering, development, operations, and support teams.
• Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders and leadership.
  

Project Monitoring & Governance

• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Track project KPIs, budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
• Escalate risks, delays, and resource constraints to senior management when necessary.
  

Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain project documentation including status reports, portfolio summaries, and governance documentation.
• Provide weekly and monthly project updates to leadership and stakeholders.
• Ensure accurate documentation and tracking using Jira and Confluence.
  

Tools & Process Management

• Manage project workflows using MS Project, Jira, and other digital tools.
• Oversee task tracking, sprint planning, and issue management.
  

Financial & Resource Management

• Manage project budgets, cost tracking, and resource utilization.
• Support project billing processes by validating timesheets and deliverables.
• Optimize resource allocation and project efficiency.
  

Skills & Qualifications

• • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, or Project Management.
• 4–8 years of experience in project management, preferably in energy, utilities, or IT sectors.
• Strong experience managing large-scale technical or digital transformation projects.
• Certification in PMP, PRINCE2, or CAPM is preferred.
• Experience working in multinational or cross-functional environments.
  

Project Management Expertise

• Strong knowledge of project lifecycle, project governance, and delivery frameworks.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Tools & Technology
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Microsoft Project
  • Jira
  • Confluence
• Domain Knowledge
• Understanding energy and utilities sector systems such as HES, MDM, WFM, and RDSS programs is highly desirable.
• Communication & Leadership
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to lead teams and coordinate across departments.
• Analytical & Problem Solving
• Ability to interpret project data and provide actionable insights.
• Strong risk management and decision-making capabilities.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in utility digitalization projects or smart metering programs.
• Exposure to international project environments.
• Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project management methodologies.
  

Location and travel requirements: Kolkata/Bangalore
