At Salt Bank we are looking for a QA Automation Engineer (Mobile) to join a high‑scale, mobile‑first product, where quality, reliability and speed are equally critical.

This role requires a strong automation mindset, deep understanding of mobile testing at scale and the ability to leverage AI-assisted tools to increase efficiency without compromising security or test credibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain mobile test automation using Java + Appium + TestNG for Android and/or iOS products.
• Implement and maintain CI pipelines in GitHub Actions to run automated tests (smoke/regression), publish test reports and enforce quality gates.
• Apply best practices in Git workflows (branching strategies, PR hygiene, code reviews, tagging, release support).
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and UX to define acceptance criteria and validate end-to-end mobile flows.
• Ensure test stability and reliability by reducing flakiness (synchronization strategies, device farm readiness, robust locators, retries only where justified).
• Contribute to test strategy: coverage planning, risk-based automation, test pyramid alignment and regression optimization.
• Investigate issues found in automation runs; create actionable defect reports with strong diagnostics (logs, screenshots, device info, reproduction steps).

Use AI assisted tools to:

• Speed up boilerplate and refactoring,
• Improve documentation and readability,
• Assist with failure triage and debugging, while validating outputs critically.
• Maintain documentation for frameworks, pipelines, and QA practices; contribute to a continuous improvement of culture.

Required skills & experience

• 6+ years in test quality engineering (mobile or hybrid).
• Strong programming skills in Java and OOP principles.
• Proven experience with Appium for mobile automation (Android/iOS) in real product environments.
• Solid understanding and hands-on use of TestNG (suites, annotations, parameters, listeners, parallelization).
• Experience building CI pipelines using GitHub Actions (workflows, runners, artifacts, secrets, matrix builds).
• Strong experience with Git (branching, rebasing/merging, resolving conflicts, PR reviews).
• Good understanding of mobile testing fundamentals: device fragmentation, OS versions, network conditions, permissions, app lifecycle, app installation/upgrade paths
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams.
