💡 About the Role

We are looking for an experienced QA Automation Lead to own and drive end‑to‑end quality across highly available, high‑throughput Payments platforms operating in regulated European markets.

In this role, you will play a critical part in scaling test automation, ensuring platform resilience, and embedding quality across the entire Software Development Lifecycle. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Product, Business, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable, compliant, and high‑performance payment solutions.

🔧 What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead and execute automated testing strategies for APIs, Microservices, and Event‑Driven systems
• Build and enhance automation frameworks to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of payment systems
• Perform functional, integration, and non‑functional testing for complex financial applications
• Test messaging and event‑driven architectures (Kafka-based systems)
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners and Business teams to translate specifications into high‑quality features
• Work in Agile/Scrum environments, contributing actively to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
• Triage defects, manage defect backlogs, and provide clear quality insights to engineering teams
• Own test artefacts, documentation, and release readiness
• Participate in production releases, incident management, and standby support activities

✅ Must‑Have Skills & Experience

• 8–12 years of experience as a QA Engineer / QA Lead in the Financial Services or Payments domain
• Strong hands‑on expertise in functional and automation testing
• Experience testing high‑performance, highly integrated applications
• Hands‑on experience with API testing frameworks such as Gatling and Karate
• Experience testing Messaging & Event‑Driven systems (Kafka)
• Strong knowledge of REST, JSON, XML, SOAP
• Proficiency with Postman for API validation
• Experience using Gherkin syntax for test scripting
• Familiarity with TDD / BDD / ATDD methodologies
• Experience maintaining test cases and automation in Azure DevOps
• Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and DevOps delivery models

💳 Payments Domain Expertise (Key Requirement)

• Strong understanding of the Financial Payments ecosystem
• Hands‑on experience with:
• Payment types and methods
• Regulatory frameworks (PSD2, SEPA)
• Payment processing systems and gateways
• Financial messaging standards such as ISO 20022
• SEPA CT, SEPA DD, Instant Payments, INT CT, TIP CT
• MX, XML, PAIN, JSON formats
