After 30 years in which @Macromex has successfully built its own brands — Edenia, Corso, La Strada, Azuris, and Casa Gruia — and has consolidated its position on the Romanian market, while also gaining expertise in bakery production over the past 10 years, Macromex is entering a new stage of development.
We have launched our newest large-scale food industrial project, one of the largest in Europe, generating new jobs and featuring centralized, scalable production with a high level of automation. The project has a strong innovation component, complex handling and packaging equipment and systems, and is focused on energy efficiency, safety, quality, and environmental responsibility.
We are building a team of professionals who will be part of this project from the very beginning, ensuring that each phase stays on schedule and fully understanding the technology from installation through to the start of production.

We are looking for an experienced Quality Manager to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Food Safety and Quality Management Systems (HACCP, BRCGS), ensuring compliance with the highest food safety and regulatory standards. This role is essential in ensuring full compliance with internal standards, customer expectations, and international certifications.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead, coordinate, and develop the Quality Assurance team, fostering a strong food safety and quality culture across the organization;
- Define, implement, and oversee the company’s food safety and quality strategy in line with business objectives;
- Collaborate closely with Production, Technical, Logistics, HR, and Supply Chain departments at both operational and strategic levels;
- Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of HACCP, BRCGS, and other applicable food safety and quality standards;
- Maintain, review, and continuously improve food safety and quality management systems;
- Monitor product and process quality across all stages of production, ensuring compliance with defined specifications and standards;
- Identify food safety and quality risks and coordinate the implementation of preventive and corrective measures;
- Lead internal and external audits (certification bodies, customers, and authorities) and ensure effective follow-up actions;
- Ensure full traceability, accurate documentation, and robust record-keeping systems;
- Investigate non-conformities, manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and contribute to root cause analysis;
- Manage customer and consumer complaints effectively, ensuring timely investigation and resolution;
- Coordinate quality control testing and collaborate with laboratories for the analysis of critical parameters;
- Routinely monitor, analyze, and report functional KPIs, action plans, and horizon scanning activities to senior management;
- Ensure compliance with national legislation, regulatory requirements, and internal company policies;
- Manage the department’s budget and contracts with external service providers and laboratories;
- Deliver regular training and awareness sessions for employees on food safety, quality standards, and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Engineering, Biotechnology, Quality Control, or related fields;
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance within the food industry (meat processing experience is a strong advantage);
- Advanced knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS, IFS Food, ISO 22000, GMP, and food safety legislation;
- Proven experience in coordinating internal and external audits;
- Strong leadership and team management skills;
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and decision-making abilities;
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills;
- Proficiency in MS Office and quality management software;
- Commitment to continuous professional development and regulatory updates.
