Who are we? 

Founded in 2022, Pitch Tech is the creator of Betr— a next-generation super app for gaming. 

Our first product, Betr Picks, was developed in Cluj-Napoca. Since then, we’ve expanded our portfolio with Betr Arcade and our Social Sportsbook, with even more gaming experiences on the way — all seamlessly integrated into a single app. 

Today, we’re rapidly growing, approaching 1 million users and engaging an average of 50,000 users every day in US. 

About the role

 We are looking for a skilled Quantitative Analyst with strong experience in modelling, statistics, and data engineering concepts. This role requires both analytical depth and hands-on technical skills, as you will be responsible for understanding and improving our current models while also helping shape future ones. 

In this role, you will help research, build, and implement new algorithms that generate sports odds. You will also work on customer data, using predictive models to find insights that support important business decisions. 

You’ll prepare analyses and reports that help both your team and the wider company understand data better. Your work will support a data-focused culture and encourage teamwork and innovation. 

This role is ideal if you enjoy working with numbers, solving problems, and being part of a collaborative team. 

What You’ll Do 

• Research, develop, and implement quantitative models and algorithms used in sports analytics; 
• Perform ad-hoc analyses and create reports that offer clear, actionable recommendations for the business; 
• Work on financial and betting modelling, including the creation and improvement of odds models;
• Understand and analyse existing internal models and take end-to-end ownership of modelling work; 
• Build and analyse predictive models to understand customer behaviour and support strategic decisions; 
• Apply probability theory and statistics to develop accurate predictive frameworks; 
• Collaborate closely with the Huddle team from the beginning, potentially travel to Croatia to acquire model know-how and understand workflows;

What we’re looking for

Mandatory skills 

•  Approx. 5 years of experience in quantitative modelling or a related analytical field; 
• Experience with financial modelling, statistical modelling, and probability theory;
• Entry-level coding experience, SQL assessment, statistics assessment (probability & statistical fundamentals); 
• Familiarity (even entry-level) with tools such as: Snowflake, Apache Airflow, Kafka;
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work independently; 
• Ability to quickly understand complex, existing models and improve them; 
• A university degree in a quantitative field such as Math, Statistics, Finance, Informatics or Engineering (a master's degree is a strong advantage); 
• Good command of written and spoken English;
