Sales Manager - Renewable Energy - Romania (Bucharest)


Overview:

The organization is a leading player in the energy transition sector, committed to delivering sustainable energy solutions that benefit both clients and the environment. Its expertise spans energy efficiency, on-site renewable energy production, energy management, and electric mobility. They are helping businesses optimize consumption and reduce their carbon footprint.

As part of its international expansion, the company is seeking a Sales Manager based in Bucharest, Romania, to lead commercial activities and drive growth in the local market.


Role Summary:

The Sales Manager will be responsible for defining and executing the national sales strategy, leading business development initiatives, and managing key client relationships across Romania. This role plays a critical part in accelerating market expansion, achieving revenue targets, and aligning local efforts with the company’s global vision.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the national sales strategy in line with company objectives.
  • Lead, coach, and support sales and business development activities across Romania.
  • Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities, expanding the company’s client portfolio.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, decision-makers, and stakeholders.
  • Drive revenue growth and ensure achievement of sales targets and KPIs.
  • Oversee contract negotiations, ensuring commercially sound agreements aligned with company goals.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform strategic decisions.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to strengthen market presence.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies in Health & Safety, Environment, and Quality Management.
  • Collaborate with the International Development Business Unit to align local execution with global strategy.
  • Track, analyze, and report on sales performance, pipeline development, and business activities.
  • Optimize sales processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.


Reporting directly to the Country Manager, once onboarded it is also the intention that the Sales Manager will grow and lead the sales team moving forward.


Requirements:

  • Degree in Business, Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a sales leadership or sales management role.
  • Strong knowledge of the Photovoltaic and/or Energy Efficiency sectors is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies.
  • Experience in Key Account Management and complex B2B sales cycles.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Results-driven with a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of accountability, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in Romanian and English (written and spoken).
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Willingness to travel regularly within Romania.
