Who We Are
By joining our project, you will be working on an initiative of the European Commission focused on creating a more efficient, modern and secure customs environment within the European Union. Being part of this initiative set on a 5 years’ timeline, you will have the opportunity to work on topics such as digitalization of customs processes, streamlining customs procedures to facilitate trade and reduce costs, harmonization of customs rules across all EU member states and combating fraud.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive security policies and procedures
• Ensuring that security policies are aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Conducting regular reviews and updates of security policies to address emerging threats and vulnerabilities
• Collaborating with department managers to determine security needs and implement appropriate measures
• Overseeing the management and maintenance of security devices, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and access control systems
• Ensuring that security devices are configured correctly and updated regularly
• Monitoring the performance and effectiveness of security devices and make necessary adjustments
• Monitoring security systems and networks for potential threats and vulnerabilities
• Implementing and managing security monitoring tools and technologies
• Leading the response to security incidents, including investigation, mitigation, and reporting
• Conducting root cause analysis and implement measures to prevent future incidents
• Conducting regular risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential security threats
• Developing and implementing mitigation strategies to address identified risks
• Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies
• Developing and delivering training programs to ensure staff are aware of their roles and responsibilities in maintaining security
• Promoting a culture of security awareness within the organization
• Maintaining detailed documentation of security policies, procedures, and incident reports
• Providing regular updates to senior management on the status of security efforts and incidents
  

What You'll Bring Along

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Security Management, or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role
• Strong understanding of security technologies and best practices
• Experience with security monitoring tools and incident response
• Knowledge of security devices management, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and access control systems
• Experience in conducting risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies
• Knowledge of risk management frameworks and methodologies
• Understanding of relevant regulations and industry standards related to security
• Experience with security audits and compliance assessments
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or similar
• Experience: Over 5 years of experience in security management, with a focus on security policies, devices management, and incident response
• Ideally, IT Infrastructure and ITIL know-how
• Excellent command of both spoken and written English
