Role: IT Security Project Manager

Location: Bucharest, Romania

Mode of working: Hybrid 2-3 days/week onsite

Type of hiring: Contract/B2B Collaboration

Duration: 12 months

Must have experience managing security projects involving EDR (end point detection response) like cloudstrike, Incident response, Vulnerability management & cloud security.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the full lifecycle and end-to-end delivery of security projects (e.g., endpoint protection, identity management, incident response, cloud security, compliance), ensuring on-time, in-scope, and business-aligned outcomes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, system architects, cybersecurity, business analysts, risk and compliance, and business operations.
• Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria in alignment with business objectives.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Ensure effective communication with stakeholders, vendors, and leadership.
• Oversee procurement and vendor management for security services and tools.
• Ensure compliance with corporate governance, data protection, and security standards.
• Prepare and present regular project status reports and dashboards.
• Support change management and communication activities related to project delivery.
• Experience working in matrixed or enterprise environments is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in project management, preferably in a contractor or consulting role with proven experience in security, IT or risk domains.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Trello, Confluence, Smartsheet).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and technologies.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in project management, business, engineering, information technology, or a related field.
• Applicable certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or similar certification) are a plus.
