The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience administering and optimizing Oracle/MySQL environments, as well as Google Cloud database services such as Cloud SQL, BigQuery, and BigLake. Experience with Google Cloud database administration is considered essential for this role.A typical day might include the following:Design, develop, and document database architectures for on-premises and Google Cloud environments.Install, configure, administer, and maintain enterprise database platforms.Manage Oracle and MySQL databases, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance.Administer Google Cloud database services, including Cloud SQL, BigQuery, and BigLake.Create and maintain database schemas, tables, procedures, roles, and access permissions.Manage database users and ensure secure access control.Implement database upgrades, patches, and enhancements following change management procedures.Support the deployment and integration of new business applications.Monitor database performance, capacity, availability, replication, and backup processes.Analyze and optimize database performance through tuning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.Implement and maintain backup, recovery, clustering, and disaster recovery solutions.Ensure compliance with internal security policies and database governance standards.Maintain database documentation and operational procedures.Monitor and optimize SLA metrics for critical database services.Evaluate and recommend new database technologies and best practices for both on-premises and cloud environments.Prepare operational reports and maintain documentation in line with internal governance and compliance requirements.To ensure success in this role, you need the following experience and skills:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar Database Administration role.Advanced knowledge of Oracle Database Administration and MySQL Administration.Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) database technologies: Cloud SQL, BigQuery, BigLake (Lakehouse).Hands-on experience with database backup, recovery, replication, clustering, and disaster recovery (DR) solutions.Experience designing and documenting database architectures for both on-premises and Google Cloud environments.Experience in database monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity management.Strong understanding of database security, access management, and governance principles.Experience working in both on-premises and cloud-based database environments.Ability to troubleshoot complex database issues and provide effective solutions.Excellent collaboration and communication skills.Oracle, MySQL, or Google Cloud certifications represent a strong advantage.Only eligible candidates will be contacted within a maximum of 2 weeks.
