Job Description:
To support and enable our development of secure and state‑of‑the‑art infrastructure services, we are looking for a Senior IT Engineer Network & Firewalls who will introduce, operate, and strategically further develop the global firewall, VPN and proxy infrastructure . As a senior expert, you will drive harmonization, cost efficiency, and complexity reduction across our Access Services portfolio and play a key role in defining the roadmap toward Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA). You will collaborate closely with internal customers, external partners in a dynamic, highly qualified environment.

  • Consulting, designing, and piloting advanced network architectures and next‑generation firewall/proxy/VPN services in alignment with modern, scalable, and resilient infrastructure principles.
  • Shaping and driving the strategic roadmap toward Zero Trust Network Access, ensuring alignment with cybersecurity, architecture, and business needs.
  • Leading initiatives to optimize costs, foster harmonization, standardization, and reduce architectural and operational complexity across the global network and security landscape.
  • Acting as a senior escalation point, coordinating complex incident and problem resolution with internal IT teams and external service providers.
  • Supporting the teamin strategic decisions, operational planning, and acting as a strong, reliable senior contributor within the team.
  • Delivering complex network and security projects on time and in high quality, providing expert guidance on firewall, proxy, and network technologies.
  • Leveraging automation tools to streamline network, firewall, and infrastructure operations.
  • Collaborating with external suppliers and managed service providers, ensuring quality, compliance, and cost-effective delivery.
  • Continuously improving functionalities, operations, and processes to increase network stability, reliability, security, and efficiency.
  • Supporting internal customers with process improvements, documentation, training, and usability enhancements.
  • Designing release processes, workflows, and live deployments for complex production environments.
  • Conducting feasibility studies, architectural assessments, market research, and vendor evaluations to support strategic infrastructure decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Academic degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge in networking fundamentals (network topologies, TCP/IP, IPSec, SSL, VPN, DNS, OSPF, BGP).
  • Experience defining or contributing to Zero Trust or similar modern network security architectures.
  • Proven ability to drive cost optimization, complexity reduction, and harmonization initiatives in large-scale environments.
  • Experience with ITSM processes and DevOps principles; automation (Ansible, Terraform) for on‑prem and virtual environments is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated experience steering external service providers and managing vendor performance.
  • Ability to solve complex network/security issues using diagnostic and monitoring tools.
  • Experience aligning with Group Cybersecurity or similar governance functions (e.g., risk handling, security baselines, remediation).
  • Strong communication skills, intercultural awareness, and the ability to influence both technical and business stakeholders.
  • High level of ownership, drive, and willingness to continue learning and developing.
