ROLE OVERVIEW

The Senior Legal Contract Manager (Construction) will lead the contractual strategy and execution for both residential and retail development projects. This role is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of construction-related contracts, ensuring legal compliance, mitigating risks, and supporting project delivery across diverse portfolios. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in construction law, contract negotiation, and stakeholder management within both residential and retail environments.

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS

• Bachelor’s degree in law.
• 7+ years of experience in construction contract management, with exposure to both residential and retail sectors.
• Strong knowledge of construction law, procurement processes, and project delivery frameworks.
• Experience with FIDIC contract forms is a strong advantage.
• Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite of software.
• Ability to write and speak in English.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, consultancy agreements, procurement contracts.
• Manage contract lifecycle from tendering and award through execution, variations, claims, and closeout.
• Collaborate with internal teams (project directors, construction managers, cost managers, designers etc.) to align contract terms with business objectives.
• Maintain and improve contract templates, procedures, and standard clauses.
• Provide strategic advice on contractual risks and mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, applicable laws, and regulatory requirements.
• Handle warranty obligations, defect liability periods, and dispute resolution.
