Wolcen is searching for a Senior Level Artist to join its environment art team of our exciting project Gods, Death & Reapers in Unreal engine 5.

We’re looking for a passionate environment artist with a strong sense of storytelling to help bring our universe to life. You have a keen artistic eye and a drive to create unique, memorable scenes that immerse players and leave a lasting impression. You're not only committed to continually improving your craft, but also capable of thinking creatively and with that overcome technical and resource limitations. Responsibilities:

· Take ownership of large areas within our maps, understanding the art direction and aim towards this common goal together with the environment team.

· Be in constant communication with the level design team. Propose solutions that fit the level design and game design restrictions all the while limiting the impact it has on the art and make it fun to play.

· Be in constant contact with your teammates, help the prop artists understand the requirements and how they can help improve our maps.

· Know how to prototype by means of block out. Quick iterations that allows to de-risk artistic directions. Be capable of throwing away prototypes and move forward.

· Help benchmark the visual quality of our scenes.

· Hit deadlines, communicate with production when this deadline is in danger. Be able to cut corners and prioritize your work when time is limited.

· Propose pragmatic and creative solutions. Know how to re-use assets, understand the power of light and fog to make the best out of the limitations set by production.

· Responsibilities can evolve depending on the project’s needs

Requirements:

· A minimum of 5 years of experience and 3 years working with Unreal

· You have experience with UE5, this must include professional work. Be technical and capable of proposing solutions. Understand performance limitations.

· Great sense of composition. Great sense of detail. Great artistic eye.

· Closely follow the artistic vision and understand how to make our maps coherent.

· Be a story teller.

· Worked on games that have been released as an environment artist

· Ideally you have previous experience with other disciplines related to environment art (props artist, lighting artists, material artist, Shaders, VFX, Blender, Houdini, etc)

· Have a good understanding of 3D asset pipeline.

· Large visual library, knowledge in art (painting, architecture, drawing, cinema, video games etc)

· Understand our genre: topdown game, dark fantasy, semi-realistic. ideally you play games that match these keywords.

· Great sense of communication and being team player.

· Advanced English skills
