These platforms empower us to efficiently manage technology, staffing, and costs as we evolve our product offerings.We are looking for a Senior Linux Systems Administrator who will perform and plan management and administration of technology in his area of specialty. You will work with team to ensure technology is effectively supporting enterprise systems.We believe that collaboration leads to the best ideas, and we rely heavily on team interaction. As a role based in Cluj-Napoca, this position will require 5 days in the office each week.Essential job functions:Designs and develops complex, integrated solutions to meet business requirements or enhance performance of Garmin's Linux server computing systemsPerforms and evaluates costs analyses and vendor comparisons form small through large scale projects to ensure cost-effective and efficient operationsContinuously develop technical subject matter expertise on established and emerging server, storage, load balancer, and open-source systems and other server technologiesUnderstands and avoids capacity, redundancy, and health constraints of server, storage, load balancer, and other open-source systemsProvides technical input to solution development plans and concept documentsPerforms and plans major version upgradesDesigns and implements effective monitoring of enterprise systemTunes systems using experience and deep knowledge of areaForesees risks, communicates and mitigates those before problems ariseDocuments technical designs and procedures for team libraryPlans and manages technical projects involving other teamsContributes to technical research on new technologies, processes or proceduresProvides 24x7 on-call support based on a rota. Communicates effectively regarding system operations and environment changesAdheres to SOX, PCI, and other regulatory requirements as dictatedEnsures that all security requirements are met or exceededDemonstrates understanding of business impacts of issues and how they relate to IT owned solutionsCommunicates effectively in written and verbal form in a cross-functional setting with business partnersShares knowledge and actively mentors less experienced professionalsCommunicates technology effectively to non-technical associates and managementRecognizes and understands technology impacts within the businessGives and receives feedback in a constructive mannerResolves conflicts with little assistanceRequirementsBachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or another relevant field AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experienceStrong knowledge with RPM/DNF based Linux operating systems (Redhat, Oracle, Rocky)Ability to author and implement basic scripting and coding to automate technical needs such as moving files, backup, create configuration, or other tasksStrong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in a small team settingConsistently demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work documentation and organizationDemonstrated ability to implement new technologies effectively.
