About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Power BI Developer with solid experience in enterprise-level banking projects, capable of designing and developing end-to-end BI solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem (Power BI, Azure, Fabric). The role requires a high level of autonomy in solution architecture, the ability to work both in a team and independently, direct collaboration with business and IT stakeholders, as well as responsibility for data modeling and optimization for critical reports and dashboards.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture and Design:

• Design end-to-end BI solution architectures, from data sources to visualizations
• Define data modeling strategies (star schema, snowflake, dimensional modeling)
• Establish Power BI development best practices and standards for the team

Development and Optimization:

• Develop complex semantic models optimized for performance
• Write and optimize advanced DAX for complex calculations, time intelligence, and dynamic KPIs
• Create Power BI reports and dashboards for critical analytical needs
• Optimize performance for large data models (DirectQuery, Import Mode, Incremental Refresh, Aggregations)

Integration and Data Engineering:

• Integrate data from multiple sources: Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics
• Develop and maintain data flows (dataflows, pipelines)
• Collaborate with Data Engineering teams for ETL/ELT processes

Governance and Quality:

• Implement security measures (Row-Level Security, Object-Level Security)
• Ensure data quality and compliance with governance standards
• Document architecture, data lineage, and implemented solutions
• Collaboration and Business Partnership:
• Deeply understand business requirements and translate them into BI solutions
• Present technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders
• Provide mentorship and technical support to junior team members

Mandatory Requirements (Must-have)

• 5–7+ years of experience in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics
• Expertise in Power BI: advanced data modeling, complex reports, performance tuning
• Expert-level DAX: measure optimization, context transition, calculated tables/columns, time intelligence
• Advanced SQL: query optimization, stored procedures, performance tuning
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Notebooks, Pipelines)
• Experience with Azure: Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake (Gen2), Azure Synapse Analytics or Azure Data Factory
• Understanding of modern BI and data warehousing architectures (star schema, Kimball, dimensional modeling)
• Experience in enterprise projects, preferably in the banking or financial sector
• Proven ability to work autonomously and make architectural decisions

Highly Preferred Requirements

• Experience in the banking domain (specific reporting: risk, compliance, regulatory reporting)
• Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics or Azure Data Warehouse
• Knowledge of Python or PySpark for data processing
• Experience implementing CI/CD for Power BI (Azure DevOps, deployment pipelines)
• Experience with Power BI Premium (capacity management, scalability)

Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Notebooks, Pipelines)
• Microsoft certifications: PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst), DP-500 (Azure Enterprise Data Analyst), DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer)
• Experience with Power Automate for workflow automation
• Knowledge of enterprise-scale data governance (Purview, data cataloging)
• Experience with Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, and other advanced development tools
