🚀 We’re Hiring: Senior QA Engineer (Backend/API) – Short‑Term Contract

Duration: ~6 months (project ends 13 Jan 2027) Start date: Immediate incorporation required

We’re looking for a technically strong Senior QA Engineer to join a complex, backend‑focused, multi‑squad technology project. This role is hands‑on across API testing, automation and backend quality validation, working closely with Developers, Business Analysts and the delivery team to ensure robust test coverage and clear, traceable evidence of quality.

🔍 Your Mission

• Analyse user stories, acceptance criteria and technical specs to identify risks, gaps and dependencies early.
• Collaborate with BAs, Product and Developers to improve requirement clarity and testability.
• Design, execute and maintain API test coverage using Postman (functional, integration, negative, data validation).
• Develop and maintain automated API tests aligned with delivery needs.
• Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing flows.
• Validate backend behaviour across services, workflows, authentication and service interactions.
• Review technical implementations from a quality perspective and support better design decisions.
• Maintain structured test evidence, defect reports and traceability.
• Participate in sprint ceremonies, defect triage and release readiness.
• Support regression and risk‑based testing.
• Contribute to QA best practices and guide other QA team members.

🎯 Required Profile

• Senior experience in QA within backend/API‑heavy environments.
• High level of English, able to communicate and defend technical decisions.
• Strong API testing expertise (validation, error handling, authentication, integration).
• Experience with automated API testing tools (Postman/Newman, REST‑assured or similar).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and test integration.
• Strong analytical skills and collaboration with Business Analysts.
• Solid understanding of defect management and structured test documentation.
• Proactive mindset, ownership and attention to detail.

⭐ Particularly Valuable

• SQL for data validation and analysis.
• Experience with OpenAPI/Swagger and contract testing.
• Knowledge of microservices and distributed architectures.
• Security testing (authentication/authorisation).
• Experience with VS Code and Docker.
