In this role, you will play a pivotal part in embedding quality across the entire product development lifecycle within a modern, cross-functional engineering environment. You will work closely with product managers and engineers to ensure that quality is not an afterthought but a core component of design, development, and delivery. Operating in a remote-first, globally distributed team, you’ll help define scalable testing strategies and guide teams toward greater ownership of quality. Accountabilities

• Define and drive the quality strategy within your squad, aligning testing approaches with product complexity, risk, and delivery timelines
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams early in the development lifecycle to ensure requirements are clear, testable, and well-defined
• Enable engineers to take ownership of testing by guiding the implementation of automated tests across multiple layers (unit, integration, end-to-end)
• Establish and promote best practices for test automation, ensuring maintainability, scalability, and efficiency
• Perform exploratory and manual testing in high-risk or complex areas to identify gaps and ensure robust coverage
• Advocate for and support the adoption of CI/CD practices, testing frameworks, and quality standards
• Provide visibility into quality metrics, risks, and trade-offs to support informed decision-making
• Contribute to broader quality initiatives by sharing knowledge and improving practices across teams
  

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or QA within cross-functional product teams
• Strong experience working with complex systems such as APIs, distributed systems, or multi-layer architectures
• Solid understanding of testing strategies across unit, integration, and end-to-end levels
• Hands-on experience with test automation and integrating testing into modern development workflows
• Experience working in environments where teams own quality and testing responsibilities
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and continuous delivery practices
• Ability to guide teams on test design, coverage, and pragmatic quality decisions
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Sound judgment in balancing quality, speed, and delivery priorities
