About the Role

• We are looking for a Shift Supervisor to join our Operations team at the combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant in Mintia, Romania.
• In this role, you will be responsible for the operative coordination and leadership of the plant during shift hours, ensuring safe, continuous, and efficient production of electrical energy in accordance with the national energy system requirements and the plant's production programme.
• As Shift Supervisor, you will lead and coordinate all shift personnel across operational disciplines — including DCS operators, field operators, electrical, water treatment, and laboratory teams. You will monitor and control technological parameters and equipment performance within approved limits, coordinate startups, shutdowns, regime changes, and switchover maneuvers, and maintain operative communication with the local central dispatcher (DLC) and the national energy dispatcher.
• You will also be responsible for coordinating operative responses to alarms, faults, incidents, breakdowns, and emergency situations ; overseeing the application of PTW (Permit to Work), LOTO, fire permit, and isolation procedures; and participating in root cause analysis (RCA) and incident investigations.
• From an HSE and compliance perspective, you will ensure full implementation of QHSSE, OHS, environmental, and fire safety requirements during shift operations, approve and verify permits to work, confirm plant readiness for maintenance and return to service, and have the authority to stop or suspend any activity deemed unsafe or non-compliant.
• You will also oversee accurate and timely completion of shift logs, operative reports, fault registers, and equipment availability records, and ensure correct shift handover/takeover with full transfer of operative information.

Education & Training:

• Technical secondary education in electrical or thermal-energy engineering (vocational school / school of foremen profile).
• Holding a valid ANRE-certified electrician authorization (advanced level) is a significant advantage.
• Additional qualifications or courses in industrial risk management are also considered an asset.

Required Experience & Skills

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the operation of power generation units, industrial facilities, or technological utilities.
• Background in gas turbines (GT), steam turbines (ST), HRSG, compressors, gas installations, or industrial auxiliary systems.
• Proven experience applying operational, OHS, emergency response, and environmental procedures.
• Experience with commissioning activities, plant startup/shutdown, or operative interventions is an advantage.
• Previous experience working in a continuous shift-based environment.
• Familiarity with DCS/SCADA monitoring and control systems.

Technical Knowledge:

• Good understanding of the Romanian National Energy System (SEN): frequency/voltage regulation, power flows, and dispatcher-led control.
• Solid knowledge of GT, HRSG, and ST processes and plant auxiliary systems.
• Familiarity with startup/shutdown procedures, technological limits, loading ramps, and equipment performance parameters.
• Ability to analyse KPIs, forced outages, RCA findings, and technical performance trends.
• Knowledge of HSE standards, risk management, energy sector legislation, and environmental compliance.
