You take responsibility for assigned features and components, aligning technical solutions with product requirements, and work collaboratively in an agile team.Your work supports the ongoing development of our billing and payments capabilities, directly helping meet the needs of the business and our customers.The TeamYou’ll join our Billing & Payments tribe, owning a core domain of the business: how customers are billed and partners get paid.Our engineering culture values pragmatic solutions, automation, strong ownership, and continuous improvement supported by open feedback loops.We are moving towards a cloud‑first architecture with a strong focus on AWS, working with technologies such as Java/Spring, AWS Lambda, Node.js, Kafka, SQL/NoSQL databases, and more.Key TasksWork within a small, collaborative team using agile methodologies and practicesTake responsibility for assigned features or components, contributing to software design, implementation, and operation with guidance from senior or staff engineersIdentify improvement opportunities and technical risks and raise them with the teamTranslate business requirements into well-designed technical solutionsSupport an effective agile way of working by helping facilitate team ceremonies and workshopsCollaborate closely with other engineers through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and day-to-day workTroubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring service reliability and operational stabilityCommunicate effectively in writing and verbally with local and remote colleagues and stakeholdersWhilst the above outlines the general expectations of the role, we expect this position to evolve over time, offering opportunities to gain deeper knowledge and experience within the online and affiliate marketing domain.Skills & Expertise3+ years of professional software engineering experienceSolid foundation in OOP and experience working with one or more programming languagesBasic experience building Node.js services using JavaScript or TypeScript is beneficialFocus on writing clean, maintainable code with a good understanding of SOLID principlesHands-on experience with AWS-based systems, microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven architecturesCommitment to engineering quality through code reviews, testing and established testing practicesExperience working with CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and automated software deliveryConfident use of Git or similar version control systems in a collaborative environmentGood understanding of relational databases, data modelling, and SQLFamiliarity with non-relational databases like DynamoDB, MongoDBBasic knowledge of web technologies and modern frontend frameworks, ideally AngularExperience collaborating in cross-functional teams with Product, UX, and Agile rolesExtensive exposure to agile processes, particularly ScrumInterest in and practical use of AI tools to augment software developmentExperience with financial or billing-related systems is a plusOur OfferFlexi-Week and Work-Life Balance: We prioritise your mental health and wellbeing, offering you a flexible four-day Flexi-Week at full pay and with no reduction to your annual holiday allowance.
