General information:

We are seeking a skilled Git/GitHub Expert to join our Process, Methods and Tools global team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and extensive experience with Git version control, GitHub repository management, and related technologies including Git LFS. This role involves supporting development teams around the globe, optimizing workflows, managing project migrations, and incorporating AI-related topics in modern DevOps practices.

Your key responsibilities:

• Manage, maintain, and optimize Git repositories, GitHub workflows, and ensure proper local configuration for enterprise users.
• Provide expert support and training for developers on Git/GitHub best practices.
• Support project migrations between version control systems or Git repositories.
• Implement branching, merging, and release strategies to streamline development processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex Git-related issues, including Git Large File Storage (LFS).
• Automate Git/GitHub workflows using GitHub Actions or other CI/CD tools.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to improve code review and version control processes.
• Ensure repository security and access controls are properly managed.
• Stay updated on the latest Git, GitHub, and Git LFS features and incorporate them into existing processes and tools.
• Explore and apply AI-related topics and tools to enhance version control and DevOps workflows.
• Gather and analyze requirements from internal customers.
• Advise and train users across various departments.
• Collaborate closely with international project teams and stakeholders.
• Fluent communication in English (spoken and written) is essential.

Your Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or equivalent qualification.
• Proven expertise with Git version control system under Windows and Linux.
• Extensive experience using GitHub for repository hosting, collaboration, and workflow automation.
• Strong understanding of Git LFS and its application for handling large files.
• Solid knowledge of branching models (e.g., Git Flow, GitHub Flow).
• Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions.
• Solid knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation.
• Solid problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex Git-related problems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, conceptual skills and communication skills.
• Ability to conduct training and provide user support.
• Independent and structured working style.
• Willingness to work in a team within an international organization.
• Excellent English skills (spoken and written) for international collaboration.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Interest or experience in AI-enhanced DevOps tools or concepts.

Nice to have:

• Experience with code review tools integrated with GitHub is a plus.
• Experience with Artifactory repository management.
• Prior involvement in project migration between version control systems.
• Familiarity with other version control systems (e.g., SVN, Mercurial) is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and Docker, Kubernetes.
