Responsibilities

• Conceptualize PV plants, including layout design and sizing of cables and equipment for both DC and AC systems.
• Conduct technical and quality evaluations of PV technologies and projects in support of technical due diligence for project investors, which may include design reviews, site visits, agreement reviews, energy yield analysis, site suitability, and similar activities.
• Maintain methods, databases, and tools for conducting solar engineering analyses.
• Monitor trends in PV technology and participate in relevant industry efforts, such as working groups and research efforts, to demonstrate leadership and support industry growth.
• Train and support junior team members.
• Support business development and proposals for solar technical services.
• Analyze large sets of data and synthesize results.
• Perform and review computer simulation (PVsyst) of solar photovoltaic (PV) generation system performance or energy production to optimize efficiency, considering various technologies for PV modules and inverters and utilizing various weather datasets (SolarGIS, Meteonorm, 3-Tier).
• Perform energy yield assessments and consider different probability factors.
• Finalize grid connection architecture in consultation with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs).
• Interact with OEMs to gather information on the latest available technologies and integrate them into the design for more efficient and economical PV plants.
• Collaborate with prospective EPC companies to finalize parameters, layouts, and quality aspects during the pre-bid stage.
• Review and approve designs and documents submitted by EPC contractors.
  

Tasks

• Education: University degree in Power Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum ANRE IIA+ IIB certification
• Minimum one certificate for PV designer / installer issued by an equipment supplier
• Previous experience with PVsyst and AutoCAD
• Demonstrated experience with design of utility scale PV power plants and other renewable energy projects
• 5+ years of experience in solar PV projects. Experience involving other renewables technologies is an advantage
• Relevant professional experience >9 years
