Role Overview

The Syndication Manager is responsible for designing, structuring, and executing complex syndicated and structured financing transactions that enable Agricover Credit IFN to expand its lending capacity beyond single exposure limits. This role ensures strategic collaboration with banks, IFIs, and institutional investors, driving access to diversified funding sources while maintaining compliance, risk balance, and profitability. Acting as a key liaison between internal teams and external partners, the Syndication Manager positions Agricover as a leading arranger and innovator in agricultural finance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Transaction Structuring & Execution

• Origination & Structuring: Identify, design, and structure syndicated loans, co-lending arrangements, and other structured finance products tailored to client and company needs.
• Solution Design: Develop financial solutions, including guarantees, subordination, tranching, and blended finance, to address complex funding requirements.
• Due Diligence & Risk Analysis: Lead and coordinate financial modeling, thorough due diligence, and risk assessments in collaboration with analyst teams and legal one
• Documentation & Negotiation: Draft, negotiate, and review key transaction documents such as term and conditions, participation agreements, and covenants, ensuring all legal and compliance requirements are met.
• Internal Approvals: Secure necessary internal approvals and ensure all documentation is accurate and compliant. Originate and structure syndicated loans, co-lending arrangements, and structured finance products.

2. Relationship & Syndication Management

• Strategic Partnerships: Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, international financial institutions (IFIs), institutional lenders, and investors.
• Syndication Marketing: Lead syndication roadshows and meetings to market transactions and attract partners.
• Alignment & Communication: Align partners on pricing, covenants, and risk allocation, and manage ongoing communication and reporting and monitoring obligations after deal closure.

3. Portfolio & Risk Oversight

• Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor the performance of the syndicated portfolio, including repayment schedules and compliance with covenants.
• Reporting: Provide regular reports to the Deputy CEO and the Risk Committee.
• Refinancing & Restructuring: Identify and act on opportunities for refinancing, restructuring, or secondary syndication of existing deals.
• KPI Development: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for transaction profitability, partner diversification, and sector exposure.

4. Support Contribution

• Treasury Support: Support the company’s treasury strategy by ensuring structured access to external liquidity sources.
• Policy & Process Development: Develop internal syndication policies, processes, and standard documentation to streamline operations.
• Training & Knowledge Transfer: Train commercial teams to identify syndication opportunities and structure basic deal terms.
• Product Innovation: Drive innovation in financial products, such as sustainability-linked loans and ESG-linked facilities.
• Market Positioning: Position Agricover Credit IFN as a recognized leader and innovator in agricultural finance.

Candidate Profile

Mandatory Experience

• Minimum 8–10 years of direct experience in syndicated lending, structured finance, corporate finance, or project finance.
• Hands-on involvement in structuring and closing syndicated or co-lending transactions.
• Experience working with banks, IFIs, or institutional investors in multi-party financing structures.

Education & Technical Skills

• University degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
• Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills.
• Strong knowledge of credit structuring, risk-sharing mechanisms, and deal economics.
• Solid understanding of regulatory requirements (including NBR and IFRS implications).
• Proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools; Power BI is a plus.
