🔍The System Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the organisation’s IT infrastructure. This position involves managing cloud environments, supporting users, maintaining system availability, and contributing to the design and implementation of technical solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with a proactive, analytical mindset and a commitment to operational excellence.

📄Technical Knowledge

• Azure IaaS and PaaS (Azure AD, virtual machines, storage accounts, monitoring, Azure Virtual Desktop, RBAC, MFA, Azure Automation, etc.)
• Microsoft 365: Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune
• Operating Systems: Windows Server (2016 to 2025), Windows 11, Linux
• Identity management: Active Directory and Entra ID (Entra Sync)
• Backup solutions (ideally Rubrik)
• Monitoring and observability tools (ideally Dynatrace, Azure Monitor)
• Core services: DNS, DHCP, NPS, NTP, file and storage services, IIS, RADIUS

Good working knowledge of:

• Automation and orchestration tools: Azure CLI, PowerShell, Terraform, BICEP, ARM
• IT Service Management (ITSM)
• Frameworks and best practices: ITIL

Additional knowledge appreciated:

• Network protocols and technologies: next generation firewalls, TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, VPN, Wi Fi
• Security and compliance frameworks: PSSI, PCI DSS, GDPR
• Microsoft Power Platform and Copilot: Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio
• FinOps concepts: cloud cost management, budget optimisation, Azure Cost Management

Activities / Responsibilities

System Operations and Administration

• Deploy, configure, and administer system environments (Cloud, virtual machines, storage, identities, etc.)
• Monitor, measure, and optimise system performance using monitoring and observability tools
• Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance of systems
• Oversee day to day operations, analyse incidents, and provide advanced technical expertise
• Support users and resolve system malfunctions
• Monitor and optimise cloud expenditure in line with FinOps principles
• Ensure compliance with defined policies and procedures
• Propose continuous improvement initiatives
• Participate in on call technical duty rotations

Architecture and Projects

• Contribute to the analysis of technical and business requirements
• Participate in the design of technical solutions
• Advise on solution choices to ensure consistency, performance, and cost control
• Ensure that defined policies are applied by project teams
• Participate in system migrations and implementations (testing, acceptance, production deployment) and ensure proper integration into the existing ecosystem
• Contribute to organising post deployment technical support
• Maintain continuous technological watch

Security

• Ensure monitoring and application of information system security procedures
• Actively participate in handling security incidents within the system scope (vulnerability analysis, remediation, etc.)
• Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP)

Automation and Industrialisation

• Identify repetitive tasks and automate them (scripting, Infrastructure as Code, etc.)
• Standardise and industrialise system configurations and deployments

Documentation

• Produce and maintain technical documentation (architecture, operations, integration, monitoring, procedures)
• Contribute to sharing best practices within system teams
