We are looking for a Technology Engineering Manager who will lead engineering standards, shared build capabilities and selected automation solutions across Romania, while driving convergence of engineering and automation practices across Mega Image and Profi, in alignment with regional (EU) direction.

This is a senior enablement role, combining engineering excellence with ownership of a growing automation portfolio, focused on scalability, quality and long‑term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Define, implement and evolve engineering standards and best practices (coding, architecture, CI/CD, test automation) across Mega Image and Profi
• Lead and develop the Engineering Centre of Excellence, including shared build and enablement capabilities supporting multiple teams and functions
• Own and govern selected automation solutions transitioning into Engineering, including custom-built workflows, scripts, integrations and platforms used across Finance, HR, Operations, Legal and other business areas
• Drive the convergence of engineering and automation practices, ensuring consistent design, quality, security and maintainability standards
• Promote reusable components, frameworks and internal platforms (including automation frameworks), reducing duplication and technical fragmentation
• Ensure effective implementation and continuous optimization of CI/CD pipelines, automation pipelines and quality controls for both engineering and automation assets
• Define and enforce engineering and automation quality standards, including acceptance criteria, documentation and lifecycle management
• Act as a key interface to regional (EU) Engineering Enablement, aligning local engineering and automation practices with group standards
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to engineering and automation teams, influencing without direct delivery authority
• Identify and manage engineering and automation risks, including technical debt, scalability limits, knowledge concentration and non-standard solutions
• Monitor performance using relevant engineering and automation KPIs (delivery lead time, defect rates, deployment frequency, stability of automated processes)
• Support the evolution from tactical automation to engineered, scalable solutions, aligned with long‑term technology direction
• Collaborate closely with Technology Enablement, Digital, Product, Architecture and Business teams to ensure automation and engineering deliver sustainable value
• Act as a people manager for engineering and automation enablement roles within the Engineering Centre of Excellence, focusing on capability development, coaching and long-term growth

What we are looking for

• University degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• 7–10 years of experience in IT, with strong exposure to software engineering, automation, integrations and DevOps practices
• Proven experience in defining and rolling out engineering standards across multiple teams or organizations
• Solid understanding of custom automation development (workflows, scripts, integrations, low‑code and traditional development)
• Experience governing heterogeneous technology stacks (e.g. Python, Java, SQL, low‑code, BI, RPA as integration)
• Ability to manage complex, cross‑functional automation portfolios, balancing speed, quality and maintainability
• Experience working in complex or post‑merger environments, with multiple stakeholders and legacy solutions
• Strong ability to influence without direct authority, aligning engineering and business teams
• Strong communication skills, including interaction with regional or international teams
• Experience in people leadership within engineering or enablement contexts, including coaching, performance development and building strong technical communities

Nice to have

• Experience with automation frameworks or internal platforms
• Exposure to low‑code platforms and integration-heavy solutions
• Agile / SAFe experience
• Background in engineering enablement, platform or CoE roles
