In this role, the Test Engineer Has the following
Key Accountabilities
- Lead product testing strategy and planning for the value stream
- Lead participation in value streams to define testing tasks for current and future planning increments and ensure commitments are delivered on time
- Meet with product design and engineering teams to determine testing requirements and recommend appropriate test methods and procedures
- Co-author design validation plans using standard tests (ETRs) where applicable
- Provide test design, development, and technical execution
- Analyze product features and define test parameters based on electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics
- Design and develop new test methods, test equipment, and test procedures as required
- Write and update test plans, test cases, and simple test code to automate and control test conditions
- Support risk assessment, quality assurance, and continuous improvement activities
- Participate in design reviews, FMEAs, and risk assessment meetings to define effective detection and validation activities
- Conduct quality assurance and performance testing using established and newly developed procedures
- Troubleshoot test failures and streamline testing processes to improve efficiency and reliability
- Ensure compliance, documentation, and reporting standards are met
- Ensure all tests and procedures comply with company policies, industry standards, and safety requirements
- Execute tests, document results, and prepare formal test reports
- Maintain organized storage and traceability of test documentation and validation records
What We’re Looking For
To Thrive In This Role, You Should Bring
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Previous work experience in a test engineer role or similar
- Familiarity with test environments and test cases for hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems
- Knowledge of test standards and regulations
- Familiarity with calibration methods and requirements
- Hands on experience with building manual or automated testing systems
- Extensive knowledge of engineering and testing procedures and techniques
Technical Skills
- Profficiency in MS Office Suite
- Familiarity with testing tools such as LabVIEW, oscilloscopes, dynamometers, multimeters, flow meters and pressure sensors, and hand tools
- Knowledge of test standards and regulations
- Familiarity with calibration methods and requirements
- Hands on experience with building manual or automated testing systems
- Extensive knowledge of engineering and testing procedures and techniques
- Technical writing skills and data analysis tools
- Statistical methods in measurement and analysis with relevant error levels
- Statistical hypothesis and null-hypothesis development and application to testing
- Analytical mindset
- Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS)Additional certification in Quality Assurance is a plus
- Industrial electrician or HVAC technician certification is a plus
