We're hiring a Trade Marketing Manager at Policolor, but the title is misleading.


At Policolor, we need someone who wakes up thinking about sell-out, not slide decks. We're looking for a hunter, not a marketer. This is a commercial role. You'll own the shelf. You'll own the activation. And you'll be measured on one thing above all else: did it sell?


You're not here to make beautiful campaigns. You're here to make distributors move product, make stores prioritize our shelf space, and make competitors nervous.


The role in short: Get into stores. Every week. See what's happening at shelf level before anyone else does. → Push activations that convert, not activations that look good in a presentation → Work side by side with the sales team, not above them → Identify opportunities in the market and close them fast → Hold distributors and KA partners accountable for execution.


You're the right person if:

✔ You know how to read a room, whether it's a distributor meeting or a store walkthrough

✔ You're more comfortable in the field than in the office

✔ You push back when something isn't working and propose a fix the same day

✔ Numbers don't intimidate you, they motivate you.

The Role. Explained in detail:

  • This is a commercial execution role disguised as a marketing title. Your primary job is to drive sell-out. You'll work at the intersection of sales and marketing, but your compass points toward revenue, not brand equity scores.
  • You'll be in the field weekly, holding the line on execution, pushing activations that actually move product, and acting as the commercial bridge between our brand strategy and what happens on the shelf.
  • If you've spent your career in FMCG or retail and you think of yourself as a commercial person first: this is your role.


Commercial Execution in the Field:

  • Minimum 2-3 days per week, TT and KA, with a commercial agenda, not just a checklist
  • Audit shelf execution, competitive activity and distribution gaps
  • Identify and escalate commercial opportunities before they become missed targets
  • Hold distributors and store managers accountable for agreed activations and placements
  • Feed weekly the sales team with specific, actionable recommendations


Sell-Out Driven Activations:

  • Design and execute activations with one filter: will this move product?
  • Own the promotional calendar for TT and KA: seasonal campaigns, product launches, price mechanics, sell-out incentives
  • Work directly with Key Account Managers, Brand Managers and sales reps to align activations with commercial targets
  • Kill what doesn't work. Scale what does.


Distributor & Partner Management:

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with distributors and commercial partners
  • Push and monitor sell-in / sell-out at distributor level, stocks and other available data
  • Negotiate shelf space, promotional slots and activation agreements
  • Be the face of Policolor's commercial agenda at the point of sale


Performance & Accountability

  • Own sell-out KPIs for your activations, not just delivery, but results
  • Track and report weekly on field findings, activation performance and competitive moves
  • Propose adjustments fast, this is not a quarterly review culture.


Cross-functional Work

  • Collaborate with Brand Managers to translate brand priorities into commercial activations
  • Work closely with the sales team. YOU are their commercial ammunition, not their back office
  • Coordinate with BI and Planning on demand signals and sell-out data.


What We're Looking For:

Non-negotiable

  • 5+ years in a commercial role: Trade Marketing, Key Account, Sales, or Field Sales in FMCG / Retail / DIY
  • Proven track record of driving sell-out, not just executing campaigns
  • Comfortable carrying commercial targets and being measured against them
  • Field-oriented, you prefer a store visit to a meeting room.


Skills

  • Commercial negotiation and partner management
  • Sell-out analysis and data interpretation
  • Promotional mechanics and activation design
  • Strong MS Office, especially Excel for commercial tracking
  • Communication that gets things done, direct, clear, no fluff
  • Advanced English
